Intervention

Is an intervention needed for your loved one? Families believe that this is a big step. It is a big step, we need to save your loved one from themselves. These are some things to consider. Are things getting progressively worst? Have you attempted to talk to them? Did they get angry and walked out?  What about the promise that they will stop, but don’t? Or they don’t have a problem? Another popular excuse is that rehab does not work. “I am not an alcoholic/addict, I go to work every day.” Those are a few barriers that families face when confronting a loved one. We have heard most of these, and many others.

Family Intervention

An intervention can be fatal if not done properly. Many times families attempt their own intervention. They have watched the show “Intervention” on television and become experts. Their belief is that they write a letter and read it to their loved one. That is not an intervention. They fail to plan for treatment, objections, and boundaries.  Families will have one chance to help their loved one. If done wrong, it could make the situation worst.

Professional Intervention

If you are looking for a positive outcome, hire a professional. Our team receives training by the best in the industry. Our company has high standards for our intervention staff. Everyone is a board certified, the most recognized in the field. They are all committed to helping families and their loved ones. We conduct the intervention with dignity and respect for the client.  Using guilt and shame to get someone in treatment does not work. Our team will guide the family thru the entire two-day process.  The pre-intervention, day one, prepares the family for the intervention.  The intervention occurs on the second day.  When your loved one agrees to treatment, we transport them to the facility.  Our services do not stop there. We provide one year of consulting services.

New Life Recovery Services is a nationwide company.  We have staff throughout the United States who are ready at a moment notice.  Our team can be in most states in less than 24 hours.  We understand the urgency of being available when you need us.

Steps To A Successful Intervention

Performing an intervention is a crucial task. You will have one chance to get your loved one help, make it count. Our suggestion is to not to try this alone without the help of a qualified professional. We receive many calls from families who have tried this on their own and failed. A failed attempt could result in an unhealthy display of emotions along with severed relationships.

STEP 1: INITIAL CALL.

The family makes the first call that we receive from the family concerning their loved one. This call is typically very long because we are gathering valuable information concerning the client such as:

  • Substance(s) being used – What is the client currently using. Is there a history of past substance abuse?
  • Past treatment history – Has the client been to treatment in the past? How long were they in treatment?
  • Mental health diagnosis – Does the client have a diagnosed mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, etc.
  • Employment history – Is the client currently employed?
  • Marital status – Is the client single, married, divorced or widowed? If in a relationship, does the partner support the client going to treatment?
  • Current living situation – Where is the client living? Are they at home? Are they living on the streets? Location unknown?
  • Legal issues – Does the client have any legal issues?
  • Healthcare insurance – Does the client have any healthcare insurance?

These are just a few of the many questions that we require when we do the initial assessment. It’s critical to gather as much information as we can about our client. This information is beneficial to the remaining steps of the process.

STEP 2: CONFERENCE CALL.

This call is intended for all friends and family who will take part in the intervention. The purpose of this call is to prepare the team for the two-day process.

STEP 3: PRE-INTERVENTION.

The family will meet with the interventionist for the first time. The purpose of the pre-intervention is to prepare the family for intervention day. We educate the family on substance use disorder, recovery, and other helpful topics. The interventionist will identify barriers that the client may have on the day that we intervene and provides solutions. The family will role-play with numerous different scenarios.

STEP 4: INTERVENTION.

On this day, the family gathers and engages with the loved one. Each family member reads letters and the gift of treatment offered. Once the loved one accepts help, the interventionist will transport the client to treatment. The process of recovery begins.

Comments From Our Past Clients

“I cannot begin to tell you how much your kindness and support means to us.  Someone in Tallahassee gave me your name and phone number. I called you and you answered and the rest is history.  Joe, if we can recommend you to anyone, please give them our name and number. I have no problem with that. I feel like I have a new friend.”

“Just when we thought things were the darkest and that our child was gone forever, there you Joe. You offered her a chance for the recovery necessary for her to have the life she deserved. You kept in very close contact through the entire process. Without you she would still be living in the street, doing lord only knows what. Instead, she is where she needs to be, getting the help she needs. We owe you the world. You have gone above and beyond and blessed us!”
